Highland Park Oktoberfest
The City of Highland Park is pleased to kick off the fall season with Oktoberfest at The Lot (523 Central) on Saturday, September 30 from 12-10 PM, celebrating seasonal fun for all in the form of beers, bites, contests and community.
This free event will showcase Chicago’s renowned authentic seven-piece German band Die Musikmeisters performing a diverse repertoire of German polkas, waltzes, marches, folk, audience participation songs, as well as favorite American swing and rock classics. The event will feature traditional Oktoberfest contests – including the return of the popular beer stein-holding contest! – crafts and interactive dance and sing-alongs, with a family focus from 12-4 PM.
Guests will enjoy German fare and beverages from more than a dozen vendors including Ravinia Brewing Company’s ‘Bier Garten’, German wines from Lynfred Winery, gluhwein, apple cider, traditional soft pretzels with mustard dip and Obatzda (German beer cheese dip), spaetzle, schnitzel, bratwurst, sausage, sauerkraut, potato salad, potato pancakes, cabbage dishes, sacher-torte cake and more!
