Seyval Blanc is an American-French hybrid grape cultivated specifically for its propensity to ripen early and thrive in cool climates. In the Finger Lakes region, and here in the Midwest, Seyval Blanc makes an excellent alternative to Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc – both grapes that aren’t particularly fond of the cold.
Lynfred has enjoyed a relationship with Lemon Creek Vineyards for a number of years and we’ve been hugely successful with Seyval Blanc and Vidal Blanc grapes, the latter of which we often use to make our ice wines.

Color: pale straw
Aroma: pear, herbs, lemon, sweet cucumber
Palate: mineral, pear juice, grapefruit, lemon zest
