June 2025 Red Wine of the Month
Syrah, the world’s 6th most planted grape, has long reigned in France’s Rhône Valley and now flourishes in wine regions across the globe. In Washington’s Columbia Valley, Syrah thrives thanks to a unique mix of sunshine, cool nights, and diverse soils. This climate coaxes out bold, expressive flavors while preserving elegance and structure. A splash of Cabernet Sauvignon adds just a touch of backbone to this vibrant blend.
This deep ruby wine opens with aromas of plum, vanilla, lavender, and a savory hint of smoked bacon. The palate is rich with black plum, blueberry, dark chocolate, and vanilla bean, finishing smooth and structured with firm tannins. Pair with barbecued pork, grilled steak, or aged cheddar and smoked Gouda.
