46th Anniversary Release: Petite Sirah Reserve 2019

On October 14, Lynfred Winery celebrates 46 years of winemaking excellence—and what better way to honor the occasion than with the debut of our newest Reserve wine?

Introducing the 2019 Petite Sirah Reserve, a bold and powerful expression of one of California’s most commanding grapes. Petite Sirah—originally known as Durif—was born in France in the 1860s when Dr. François Durif crossed Syrah with Peloursin. Today, it thrives in California, producing some of the biggest, most intense wines made in America.

Our 2019 Petite Sirah Reserve is crafted from 100% Petite Sirah grapes grown in Clarksburg, California, aged for 38 months in American oak, and bottled unfiltered. Deep purple in color, it bursts with aromas of maraschino cherry, plum, vanilla, candied violets, black tea, and black pepper. On the palate, layers of cherry, dried plum, espresso, dark chocolate, licorice, and roasted oak unfold into a long, complex finish with firm tannins. This is a wine that commands the table, especially when paired with grilled beef, roasted pork chops, or aged cheeses.

All Lynfred wines are of exceptional quality, but our Reserve wines are extraordinary. The 2019 Petite Sirah Reserve is the epitome of this promise.
