Lynfred Winery’s 2021 Tempranillo showcases the elegance of Spain’s most celebrated grape with a California accent. Crafted from 90% Tempranillo grown in the Clarksburg AVA and complemented by 10% Cabernet Sauvignon from Washington’s Columbia Valley, this full-bodied red bursts with aromas of vanilla, cherry, dried tomato, and tobacco. The palate reveals layers of dark plum, chocolate, and spice, finishing with round tannins and refined complexity. A natural partner to paella, tapas, and charcuterie, this wine is our autumn invitation to sip, savor, and celebrate tradition.
When Lynfred Brand Ambassador Laura Lorenz steps into the kitchen, she brings the same passion to her cooking as our winemakers bring to their craft. Inspired by the lush and layered character of our 2021 Tempranillo, Laura created chorizo and potato empanadas tucked into golden pastry and paired them with a smoky poblano cream sauce. The wine’s notes of dark fruit and gentle tannins echo the spice of the chorizo and ancho chili, while balancing the richness of potatoes and cream. It’s a pairing that proves once again: the right wine doesn’t just accompany a dish—it sparks the inspiration behind it.
