Ingredients
2 oz rye whiskey
½ oz lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
1 ½ oz Lynfred Blackberry Wine
¼ tsp granulated sugar
1 dash bitters
1 egg white (optional but recommended)
Orange rind-garnish

Directions
Add all of the ingredients except the orange rind to a cocktail shaker and shake very well (this is a dry shake, no ice in this step…this helps the egg white really foam). Next, add a few ice cubes to the cocktail shaker and shake until completely chilled. Strain the cocktail over a large ice cube in a rocks glass and garnish with an orange rind.

*If you are not using an egg white, skip the dry shake step
*I recommend using a whiskey that is higher proof for this recipe. I used a 100-proof straight rye whisky (American – no e). If you don’t prefer rye, try your favorite whiskey that has a kick.
