Makes 1 cocktail
Ingredients
1 ¾ oz infused whiskey (optional, see note*)
1 ½ oz cranberry wine
1 egg white
4 tsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
2-3 dashes orange bitters
1-2 dashes Angostura bitters
Ice
Directions
In a cocktail glass add all of the ingredients minus the ice. Shake for 30 seconds (this is called a dry shake). Then take the lid off of the cocktail shaker and add the ice. Shake again for 20 seconds. Strain the drink into the desired cocktail glass, and garnish with an orange slice (I prefer a dried orange slice for this cocktail).
Notes
*If you choose to infuse your whiskey this is what to use.
1 small piece of orange peel about 1” in length
1 cinnamon stick
2 cloves
Add whiskey and let sit for 4 hours or up to 24 hours.
*I used a bourbon whiskey that had notes of cinnamon and almond.
*If you want an intense foam on the cocktail add a reverse dry shake (take the ice back out of the cocktail and shake again for 30 seconds.
*I infused my whiskey for 5 hours and enjoyed the subtle notes.
